New Zealand has participated in the Mlovision Song Contest two times in the 2014 edition. They made their debut with two songs: "Tennis Court" by pop singer Lorde and "Underground" by alternative rock band Evermore.

In 2014, two songs were chosen to represent the country in the contest. "Tennis Court" by pop singer Lorde got the third place with 96 points and "Underground" by alternative rock band Evermore got 31 points and came thirteenth in a field of fifteen entries.
The country withdrew from the competition due to a lack of interest in the contest.
