The Netherlands have participated in the Mlovision Song Contest three times: in 2013, 2014, and in 2016 with two entries.

Participation[]

2013 debut[]

In 2013, the country made their debut with pop rock singer Anouk, and her song "Birds". The song competed with another two entries, and at the end of the show, the song got the second place.

2014[]

In 2014, symphonic metal band Within Temptation was chosen as the next representatives of the country. Their song, "Angels", was performed ninth on the night, and at the end of the show, the song only got 25 points coming 15th, that is to say, the last place.

2015 withdrawal[]

Due to poor results in the previous edition, the country withdrew from the competition.

2016 return[]

In 2016, the country returned to the contest with two entries: "We Don't Make the Wind Blow" by Dutch country band The Common Linnets and "Queen of Elba" by pop singer Laura Jansen.

The Common Linnets performed third on the night and Jansen did it in the seventh position. At the end of the event, "We Don't Make the Wind Blow" received only 6 points from the Jury plus 19 points from Mlo, giving them 25 points and getting the 15th place, while "Queen of Elba" got 31 points from the Jury plus 79 points from Mlo, giving a total of 110 points and finishing 7th, in a field of sixteen entries.
